Bio

Heidi Lawrence is a PhD student in Rhetoric and Writing at Virginia Tech (VT) in Blacksburg, Virginia. Through her work at VT's Center for the Study of Rhetoric in Society, her research focuses on social movement rhetoric, specifically the rhetoric of environmental discourses, antivaccination groups, and moral appeals. She also specializes in providing professional writing, editing, and proposal management development services to government and private industries in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. She previously completed an M.A. in English with a concentration in Professional Writing and Editing at George Mason University (GMU) and taught Business Writing in GMU's School of Management.
